Personalise your GotReceipts experience with themes, emojis, and profile settings.

Changing Theme
GotReceipts supports light and dark modes, plus an automatic option that follows your device settings.
- Go to Settings → Appearance
- Select your preferred mode:
- Light - Bright theme for daytime use
- Dark - Easy on the eyes in low light
- System - Automatically matches your device's theme
Accent Colours
You can also choose an accent colour to personalise the look:

Your theme and colour preferences sync across all your devices.
Household Emoji & Name
Give your household some personality with a custom emoji and name.
Changing Household Name
- Go to Settings → Household
- Tap Edit Household
- Enter your new household name
- Tap Save
Setting Household Emoji
The household emoji appears next to your household name throughout the app.
- Go to Settings → Household
- Tap Edit Household
- Tap the emoji picker next to the name
- Choose an emoji that represents your household
- Tap Save
Ideas: 🏠 for a family home, 🏢 for flatmates, 🐕 if you're all about the pets, or 🌴 for that holiday let.
Reaction Emojis
Customise the quick-reaction emojis your household uses to celebrate completed tasks.
- Go to Settings → Household
- Tap Reaction Emojis
- Tap any emoji slot to change it
- Pick from the emoji keyboard
- Changes apply immediately for everyone
By default, you get: 👏 🎉 💪 ⭐ 🔥
Tip: Choose emojis that match your household's vibe. Some households go for encouragement (💪 🙌 ❤️), others prefer humour (😂 🤣 👀).
Profile Settings
Changing Your Display Name
- Go to Settings
- Tap Edit Profile
- Update your name
- Tap Save
Your display name is shown on the leaderboard and on your completed activities.
Updating Your Profile Picture
- Go to Settings
- Tap your current profile picture or the camera icon
- Choose a new photo from your library or take one
- Crop and adjust as needed
- Tap Save
Your profile picture appears throughout the app — on activities, reactions, and the leaderboard.
Note: Profile pictures are only visible to members of your household.
